When you click a link from the Shop It Forward site to shop with our partner stores, Shop It Forward is identified as the referring website via a “Shop It Forward” cookie assigned to your browser. This tells the store, “Here is a Shop It Forward member” by using a meaningless member ID number. When you complete your online purchase with one of our partners, they report the sales that Shop It Forward has referred, including your ID number and we forward your contribution to your chosen charity or our charity of the month (guest shoppers). They do not provide us with details of what you bought or payment information, only the amount of the purchase.
